During a trend shopping trip to New York, Sandra Artalejo went into an indy fashion shop and saw a backpack made from a tire inner tube.

After taking in shows at a music festival in the city, she began to think about ways to highlight the union of art and music in a fashion accessories line with an emphasis on recycling.

She decided to share her fascination with album art and the label designs wrapped around 45s by finding new life for the vinyl she picked up in second-hand bookstores and record shops. "There has to be a purpose other than what it was made for," she says.

Now, vinyl LPS, 45s and retro album art adorn everything from tote bags to clutches to journals.

While the line has expanded to include creations for pet lovers, one thing remains constant: Artalejo's love of music, symbolized by the AMP guitar pick that is the finishing touch on each item.
